- Description:
- The division of the Census District in urban areas, formed by a conglomerate of blocks. Its purpose is to facilitate the organization, control, and survey of the Census. In small towns, the map of the entire population center may be equivalent to a single census area. Census areas are recognized in the cartography because they present a code in which the first value is the number of the district to which it belongs, followed by the number of zone within that same district, in addition its numbering correlates with 1 to N within the district.
