"The outline & remarks printed in black is a reduction of the Admiralty chart published in 1866. The changes that have occurred, as delineated by Mr. Forbes, 1879, are marked in Red." Area of poisoned water, January 1876, is shown. Includes insets: North Island [showing North Keeling to scale] -- General map showing the relative position of the islands [scale ca. 1:733,000], showing sand spits between North and South islands.
