- Relief shown by contours and spot heights. "Contour interval 100 meters." Some sheets are: polyconic projection, or Mercator projection. Ancillary maps: Index to boundaries -- Index to adjoining sheets -- Coverage diagram. Issued in 1° quadrangles numbered according to the system used for the International 1/million map of the world. Some sheets the aeronautical grid was added. Map Library has: 118 sheets, see index. This series was published as: A.M.S. L582 [contour]; L582 type A [blue and black, planimetric]; L582 type A [blue and black, form lines]; L582 type A and type B [hachures, form lines]; L582 type B [contour]; L582 type F [contour]; L582 type A and type F [contour]. Co-ordinated for use with the following sets, covering adjoining areas: China proper, NE 1:250,000 A.M.S. L531; China proper, NW 1:250,000 A.M.S. L532; China proper, SE 1:250,000 A.M.S. L581; and Indochina 1:250,000 A.M.S. L502. Includes "Glossary." Map shows: international and provincial boundaries, transportation, water features, and populated places. Sheets are individually numbered and titled. Compiled in 1944 from China 1:50,000, Central Land Survey, 1936-37. Vertical aerial photograph, 1944 ; Japanese Hydrographic Chart.
