- Relief shown by contours and spot heights. "Geographic coordinates. Astronomic observation at Great Temple I: latitude 17°33.3ʹ N ; longitued 89°35.5ʹ W." "Datum: benchmark at Tikal Project Camp." This map is the result of the research conducted at the Mayan site of Tikal under the auspices of the University of Pennsylvania Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology and the government of Guatemala from 1956 through 1969. Shows locations of Mayan ruins structures, ruins of 19th century villages, stelas, altars, chultuns (man made water reservoirs), natural reservoirs, swamps, ancient quarries. " Edwin M. Shook field Director of the Tikal Project; University Museum Director, Froelich Rainey". On the back of the report includes a location key table for sites on the map and the nomenclature used by previous archaeologist titled: "New structure numeration and equivalences with previous designations. (Compiled by Willian A. Haviland). Includes "Location diagram." Map Collection holdings are: Bejucal Quadrangle -- Encanto Quadrangle -- Temple of the Inscription Quadrangle.The missing seven maps were photocopied.
