Depth curves and soundings in feet- datum is mean low water. Shoreline shown represents the approximate line of mean high water. The mean range of tide at Miami Beach is approximately 5.1 feet. "Mapped edited and published by the United States Geological Survey. Control by USC&GS, and New Jersey Geodetic Survey. Culture and drainage in part compiled by U.S. Corps of Engineers from aerial photographs taken 1943. Topography by plane-table surveys 1956. Hydrography compiled from USC&GS chart 1218."
