- Relief shown by hachures and spot heights. Location of peak of Jibel Bibawan, based on bearings taken from Mogador (Essaouira) and Marocco (Marrakech), is shown. Sandy and rocky portions of coast shown by shading. Offshore reefs are marked. East of Gran Canaria, Fuerteventura and Lanzarote islands are shown. Note from the companion article: "The original chart of this survey is laid down on the scale of one inch to one mile, minutely detailing all the features of the coast, and the soundings; and it is from this the accompanying sketch chart is reduced."
